Vintage Clothesline is proud to present a 60s vintage purple wool, fox fur trimmed, dress suit ensemble by Dereta of London. Classy, sophisticated and SO Jackie O are just some of the words that come to mind when describing this quality dress suit. The size is not marked but the bust (buttoned) of the jacket is 41 inches and the skirt waist is 30 inches. This would probably be a modern Large. Please see all measurements further below for proper fit.

Dereta is acclaimed for its high-end quality clothing.
In 1947 when Dior was called to the Queen's presence to privately show his ready-to-wear New Look dresses to the princesses, Dereta also managed to make seven hundred New Look style suits despite the shortage of fabric and English clothing coupons. The clothing firm of Dereta is just one of the clothing names one would see becoming popular in ready-to-wear in department store boutiques in the UK at this time. In the early 50s quality brand name clothing gained in popularity and Vogue magazine put its stamp of approval on Dereta, as well as Jaegar, Brenner Marcus, Rima, and Mary Black.
The jacket features princess seaming down the bodice, long sleeves with plush black fox fur cuffs, covered fabric buttons and a black fox fur collar. There are two front slash pockets.
When we purchased this suit, the fox fur collar was missing, so we purchased a brand new one that matches perfectly. This collar alone cost $35.00. It hooks with a furrier hook. This will make it so convenient when removing to have dry cleaned. You can leave it independent of the suit or lightly tack to the neckline of the suit.
The skirt has a waistband with a side invisible zipper and metal slide hook for closure.
The suit is completely lined.
The hat is not included.

Condition:
The condition is EXCELLENT with no stains or tears. Again, the fox fur collar is brand new and the fur cuffs are soft and in excellent shape, too. Although it appears to be clean, this suit has been in storage so you may want to have dry cleaned upon receipt. We do not dry clean our items so to keep our prices lower.
