This label is highly collectible and rare because Marjorie Montgomery was one of The "Affiliated Fashionists of California" group which formed in the late 1930's. They called themselves the "Eight Designing Woman" and Marjorie along with Louella Ballerino, Mabs ( Mabs of Hollywood or Mabs Barnes), Agnes Barrett, Addie Masters, Viola Dimmitt, Irene Bury, and Peggy Hunt formed the group. In the early 50s the membership reduced to six but Marjorie was still there.  Although she lost her company in 1940 and the right to use her name, the label still existed.



This dress is made of a whip cream type material and if you have never felt this type of material, then let me tell you it has a delicious soft, smooth touch just like its name. It is so easy care...just throw in the machine and drip dry.




The bodice is darted, has a round scoop neckline and short sleeves.



The waist has a thin attached piped belt around and this is decorated with two small bows at waistline in front. The blue and white floral pattern is so refreshing.





The back fastens with a long zipper and hook.







This dress was actually shorter but someone has doubled the hem about two inches and basted to make shorter. They did not cut the hem off so it would be easy to rip out the basting and let down. The seams are pinked.

Size: Not Indicated.

Bust: 39 1/2 inches.
Waist: 38 1/2 inches.
Hips: 40 inches.
Bodice Length from Shoulder to Waist: 15 1/2 inches.
Skirt Length from Waist to Hem: 19 3/4 inches (can add 2 more inches if let hem out).
Shoulder Width Back Shoulder Curve to Shoulder Curve: 15 - 15 1/2 inches.
Sleeve Length from Top: 4 inches.

Condition:
The condition is Excellent and the dress has been freshly washed. There is one spot about an inch long at the waistline seam which has come loose and would need to be handstitched back. This would be very easy to do. Again, if you want longer, just take the hem out that was doubled up and basted.
