Whether you are swing dancing or having a picnic in the park, this vintage 1940s sheer floral summer wartime day dress is just what you need to be cool and comfortable. Made of a light cotton, possibly voile, material, the bodice is full and blousey and the skirt has an extra flirty swing with 7 gore panels. There is no size indicated but the bust measures 47 3/4 inches max (should be worn blousey) and the waist is 33 inches. Please see all measurements below for proper fit.
The bodice of the dress has a small flat collar and it fastens up the front with four white buttons. It has a self tie belt and threaded belt loops at each side and one in front. Pleating at the waist lends a blousey look. Sleeves are hemmed at 3/4 length. The print is made up of a floral design of blue, pink, gray and white flowers.
The back has the same pleating at the waist for a full back bodice.
Now, if you want to put a modern twist to the dress, just add a wide belt of your own choosing. Gives it a whole new trendy look, right?
Again, the skirt is rather sassy with 7 gored panels. You will not be disappointed with this fabulous vintage dress.
Sorry, the hat, basket and pink belt are not included.
